Easy Hair Removal Tips to Do at Home
Hair removal is a simple task when you choose to do it yourself. At-home treatments get the job done in a few minutes and are affordable. Few of them are also pain-free. Could we ask for anything more? Probably not. If you think laser treatment is too expensive and waxing too painful, you’ve come to the right place.
In this article, we put together four DIY hair removal tips that you can try at home. They are super easy and require you to use only three or four ingredients.
1. Try lavender and tea tree oil
The combination of these two ingredients makes an effective hair removal agent. Mix one teaspoon of lavender oil with a few drops of tea tree oil. Take a cotton swab and dip it into this liquid and gently use it on facial hair. Apply this thrice daily for a couple of months. The lavender will help get rid of your facial hair over time as it has anti-androgenic properties. Try to use organic, high-quality oils so that you reduce the chances of a skin reaction.
2. Use DIY hair removal soap
Hair removal soap is a pain-free solution to the unwanted hair problem. Simply lather up the area, wait for around five minutes, and wash with water. That’s all. To make it, all you have to do is combine barium sulfate, glycerin soap, essential oil, and turmeric. The barium sulfate mainly works to remove the hair. Turmeric is also a key ingredient that latches on to the hair and helps it loosen up. Essential oil keeps the soap solution mild on the skin so that you’re left with a smooth finish.
3. Switch to sugar wax
Many beauty bloggers suggest sugar waxing as a pro tip to remove hair painlessly. It is also suggested as a great alternative to regular wax. In this method, a sugar-concentrated paste is first applied over the targeted area. A piece of cloth is set to rest over the paste for a few seconds and then yanked in the opposite direction of your hair growth. This method removes hair quickly and also exfoliates your skin in the process. To prepare sugar wax, mix equal amounts of water and honey with double the amount of sugar. Heat it in the oven until it melts and store it in a jar for regular use.
4. Apply milk and gelatin mask
Another DIY hair removal tip is to use a peel off mask made with milk and gelatin. Combine gelatin, whole milk, and lemon, and heat the mixture in the microwave until it forms a thick liquid. After it reaches room temperature again, apply it to unwanted hair. Let it stay for a few minutes and then peel it away using your fingers. This method not only removes hair, but also prevents ingrowth. After you use it, apply oil or lotion to the area to moisturize it. If you’re prone to acne, this method may benefit you as it isn’t harsh on the skin.
